44th Juried Exhibition
The exhibition will run from November 19, 2022 – January 7, 2023, with an Opening Celebration and awards presentation on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 1 p.m. The Juried Exhibition welcomes artists to submit works in a variety of mediums including paintings in any medium, drawings, ceramic, mixed media, fibre art and sculpture, photography.
“Each year we host a vibrant juried exhibition showcasing a wide variety of artists and art works from across the region and beyond,” said Olinda Casimiro, Executive Director of the Art Gallery of Northumberland. “This fall we celebrate our 44th Juried Exhibition offering participating artists both exposure to the Northumberland County community, as well as an opportunity to meet fellow artists, encourage activity in the visual arts and most importantly support artists.”

Meet The Jurors
Gesta Abols is a collector and donor of works to the Tom Thompson Art Gallery, Owen Sound; London Regional Museum; McMaster University, Hamilton; Queen’s University, Kingston and other public galleries. He is a trustee of the Royal Canadian Academy Trust, and has previously served on the Board of Directors of the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, Toronto Arts Productions, Ontario Association of Art Galleries, Crafts Ontario, C Magazine and on the advisory committee of the Doris McCarthy Gallery, University of Toronto. Gesta is a graduate of the University of Toronto and holds an L.L.M. International Law degree from New York University.
Ruth Jones is a writer, editor, and curator whose work includes the co-curated (with Sam Mogelonsky) exhibitions Glimmers of the Radiant Real and Drawn to the Horizon: The Gift of Ronnie Kaplansky. Her writing and journalism, has appeared in venues including CBC’s Ideas, the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail, Esse arts et opinions, the Boston Globe, Border Crossings, C Magazine, and the LA Review of Books. She is co-editor-in-chief of The Site Magazine and holds a PhD in French and Francophone studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Mary Krohnert is a social arts practitioner, art therapist and founder of the LivingRoom Community Art Studio and Mobile Art Hive. With over 25 years’ experience in community engaged arts, her work is driven by an appreciation of relationship in story, and the many ways it can be communicated creatively to spark awareness and personal growth. Through inhabiting the spaces between the worlds of traditional fine arts and wellness, she invites individuals and families to explore and realize their extraordinary potential as cultural stakeholders and change-makers in their lives and communities.
